The creation of the Maarch Courrier app

The development of the Maarch Courrier Mobile app was driven by specific needs identified together with several local authorities. These discussions highlighted the importance of an effective mobile solution for mail management, both to improve productivity and to make it easier to view this information.

Henri Queneau, founder of HQ-Demat and the app’s designer, highlighted the many constraints he encountered while designing the interface.

The app is built on an in-depth analysis of user needs, making it possible to identify the essential features. This approach led to a rigorous research and prototyping phase, in which each feature was carefully selected, tested, and refined to deliver an optimal user experience.

To develop the app, HQ-Demat had to master an open-source programming language in order to build a cross-platform solution (iOS, Android, Windows, and Linux). This technology choice aimed to optimize development efficiency while ensuring broad accessibility.

However, development raised complex challenges, particularly when it came to user testing. Google required a minimum of 20 tests to ensure quality and enable release on the Google Play platform, which led to a proactive search for testers to strengthen the app’s reliability and performance.

Features and Improvements

Secure authentication, whether via LDAP or username/password, was also added. Other features were also included, such as annotations, a validation workflow for the mail distribution list, as well as a history log and an approval workflow.
